COVID-19 Update
To the patients of Uptown Park Dental
To all our patients, we are happy to be able to say, welcome back! We sincerely hope that you, your families, and your friends, have been well through this COVID pandemic. Although it has profoundly affected all of us personally and at work, in the end, our health is all that really matters.
As you may be aware, the British Columbia Center for Disease Control (BCCDC) and the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. (CDSBC) have provided regulations and guidelines for providing dental care for our patients as the province moves into Phase II of the COVID Pandemic Response. Previously our office always utilized protocols for surface decontamination, instrument sterilization, and personal protective equipment (PPE) that met or exceeded BCCDC and CDSBC guidelines. However, going forward, we would like to take this opportunity to outline to you the many changes that we have instituted in our clinic to further enhance infection prevention for both patients and staff.
First, you will be contacted 24-72 hours before your appointment by phone or email, and asked a set of health-related questions. It is required that we complete this questionnaire prior to your appointment. We will have to reschedule your appointment if we are unable to complete this step.
Removed magazines and other items that could potentially harbour viruses or other infectious agents. A hand sanitizer will be at the entrance to the office, and it is required that all individuals entering the clinic first wash their hands.
Provided more education materials to enhance your awareness of health issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Installed a droplet barrier at the reception desk.
Require hand washing or hand sanitizing in the treatment rooms for all patients, dentists and staff.
Introduce an oral pre-rinse to all patients of 1% hydrogen peroxide to reduce overall aerosol microorganism count.
Made provisions for payment arrangements in advance to avoid delay and provide a contactless exit from the office wherever possible.
Enhanced treatment room disinfection that exceeds the limits that are required by the BCCDC and the CDSBC.
Enhanced HVAC system and air filtration.
The dentists and staff will utilize PPE’s that meet or exceed the requirements of the BCCDC and the CDSBC.
Introduced protocols to reduce or eliminate airborne aerosols wherever possible.
After each patient visit, we have in place enhanced disinfection procedures of equipment, office fixtures, computers, keyboards, telephones, chairs, doorknobs, and buttons that are used during your appointment.
Increased appointment duration to enable us to provide an increased level of disinfection, reduced patient to patient contact, and, as always, provide the best treatment possible.
Warmest regards,
Dr. Dan Czerniecki, Dr. Josh Lombardi, and the rest of the Uptown Park Dental team.

Hear from Our Dentist

“I am very fortunate to have worked together for many years with the same team of dedicated staff members. It is rare to find a group that combines such a high degree of skill and a commitment to a caring and fun-loving environment for our patients. They are in large part responsible for so many 3 and even 4 generations of family members in our care from across the lower mainland.”
